New Release - Sig Sauer P322 .22LR Optics Ready Handgun

It appears the days of SIG announcing guns like the MPX and only delivering vaporware for 3 years is long gone. We've been pleasantly surprised by SIG shipping new products to us right as it's being announced or shipping them shortly after the announcement. This makes the consumer happy because they don't have to constantly check to see if a new gun they are interested in is actually in production, but also alleviates all of the "When will this be released?" calls that dealers get. Bravo SIG - you're finally catching on!

As of this writing we have this new gun In Stock on OUR WEBSITE. It's the new P322. It combines aspects and ergonomics of the P365 and the P320, but it's chambered in .22LR. We are excited about this one because SIG hasn't had a .22LR gun in a while. Supposedly this was due to the ammunition shortage that started about 5 years ago when nobody could find .22LR on the shelves. At that time SIG had two series of .22LR handguns. The first was the Mosquito which was a rebadged German-made GSG and we weren't that fond of it, but the best models were the Classic P-series chambered in .22LR - the P220, P226, and P229. SIG even sold Caliber X-Change kits so you could convert your existing centerfire guns to rimfire. While those are lost to history, we have have a gun that not only checks all of the boxes from the Classic P-Series Rimfire guns, but is far more capable and relevant in the age of polymer handguns.

First let's look at capacity. When you converted your P226 9mm with a 15 round magazine to rimfire you lost capacity. The magazines were single stack and only held 10 rounds. This is common for most rimfire semi-auto pistols. The new P322 holds 20 Rounds flush fit! And to top that off they offer an extended 25 Round magazine. That's at least double the capacity of their prior offerings as well as every other mainstream .22LR handgun you can find in your local gun shops. I'm not sure how nobody else figured out how to do this in a semi-auto handgun before, but we like this rimfire voodoo magic.

It gets better from there. This gun has a 4" fixed threaded barrel so you are suppressor ready. A threaded barrel option used to cost you more on SIG's old rimfire guns. Now it's standard. For sights you get a adjustable fiber optic sights AND it has an optics cut, compatible with the SIG RomeoZeroElite. A manual safety is also standard, a feature that was unavailable on the Classic P-Series guns. To top if off the price is even great, with an MSRP of $449.99 as of March 2022. The magazines are also extremely reasonable with an MSRP of just $29.99 for the 20rd and $39.99 for the extended 25rd model.

In conclusion we are VERY excited about this new gun. If anyone at SIG reads this we have just one more request. We want a high capacity rimfire rifle with the MCX feature set and an operating system as good as their discontinued 522. Many of us at Osage County Guns purchased 522s when they were in production. Those rifles would eat almost any .22LR ammo and cycle perfectly unless the round was absolutely defective. If SIG can pull that off we will have a winning combination of 21st century rimfire pistol and rifle for training and general fun.
